Roche Consumer Health adds to the recent spate of OTC pain-reliever advertising aimed at arthritis sufferers looking to replace the recalled Vioxx with a nonprescription option. "If the recent news about prescription arthritis medications has you concerned, ask your doctor about non-prescription Aleve," a radio spot that broke Oct. 13 says. Like recent ads for Tylenol and Advil, the spot stresses consulting a doctor and refers to Aleve's Rx heritage: "prescription strength arthritis pain relief without a prescription."
