Executive Summary
Draft prototype safety monographs on melatonin, chromium picolinate, glucosamine and saw palmetto to be subject of public meeting at National Academies in Washington, D.C. Jan. 29. Drafts currently do not offer conclusions about ingredients' safety; modification is expected following stakeholder input. Developed by the Committee on the Framework for Evaluating the Safety of Dietary Supplements, monographs on melatonin, glucosamine and saw palmetto were posted on the 1Food & Nutrition Board Web site Jan. 15; chromium picolinate monograph scheduled to be available Jan. 22.
