MULTIVITAMINS REDUCE FETAL DEATH RISK AMONG HIV-INFECTED MOTHERS in a study of 1,075 Tanzanian women, Wafaie Fawzi, MD, Harvard School of Public Health, et al., report in the May 16 issue of the Lancet. Multivitamins also led to a reduction in low birth weight, a reduction in severe preterm births and an improvement in the immune status of the mothers, the researchers say.
