Egypt bans registration, importation and sale of electronic cigarettes

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population's High Technical Committee has decided to prohibit the registration, importation into Egypt and marketing of all electronic cigarettes with immediate effect1. The ban applies to electronic cigarettes that had already been imported before the committee issued its decision. (Previously, e-cigarettes were classified as medical devices and were cleared by customs on those grounds.)
