Brazil issues new rules for registration of APIs

Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency, Anvisa, will this year introduce mandatory registration requirements for active pharmaceutical ingredients1,2. Under two new rules, domestically manufactured and imported APIs will have to be registered according to a phased timeline established by the agency. The first phase began on 1 February.
