GNC expands into Canadian sports stores

The retailer begins opening nutritional product boutiques within the Forzani Group Ltd.'s sporting goods stores as part of a partnership announced June 9. After a pilot program beginning in the fall of 2009 in Calgary, Alberta, a full rollout is planned for across Canada in 2010. FGL offers a "national presence" and "strong market share" to enable GNC to grow its Canadian presence, the Pittsburgh-based company said. GNC currently counts 1,733 Rite Aid stores-within-a-store among its more than 5,200 U.S. retail locations
