Specialty generics firm Alvogen acquires the Today Spongenon-hormonal birth control brand from Synova Healthcare and expects to establish a "leadership position in an emerging 'third' category" in addition to its branded pharmaceuticals and generics businesses, the Bridgewater, N.J.-based firm says June 11.
