More than 350 people attended the Natural Products Association's "Natural Products Day" reception on Capitol Hill in Washington on March 27. The 10th annual event resulted in 160 lobbying appointments with senators and representatives, NPA says. In 2006 the trade group saw "several legislators signing onto bills" NPA supported following its lobbying day on Capitol Hill, a spokesperson says, and the group expects similar results this year. On the same day, the Dietary Supplement Education Alliance hosted an educational luncheon titled "Nutritional Supplements: Improving Lives, Saving Health Care Dollars" for members of Congress and the supplement industry.
