Royal Numico reaches a tentative global settlement that could lead to the dismissal of 36 ephedra liability suits in which former subsidiary GNC is named as a defendant, the firm says May 2. The group of 20 defendants will pay a total of $19.7 mil. under the tentative agreement; Numico says its contribution is covered under product liability insurance.
