Moving too quickly away from use of oils containing trans fats could result in increased saturated fat levels in food, the Grocery Manufacturers of America says in recent comments to the USDA Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. "Instead, GMA member companies are focused on introducing products that are lower in both trans and saturated fats - and that takes time," the association states.
