Johnson & Johnson will provide free drugs for Medicare drug discount card holders who qualify for the government's $600 transitional assistance, the firm announces April 22. Low-income card holders will qualify through "many" Medicare-approved programs, J&J says. Firm also will provide "competitive discounts" to beneficiaries who do not qualify for the low-income program, such as those whose income is above 200% of the federal poverty level or whose discount card sponsor does not participate in J&J's program.
