New energy bar with Quadratein, a propriety four-protein blend, is designed to provide more sustained energy than competing bars, Masterfoods USA (formerly M&M/Mars) says. Protein comes from soy, whey and peanuts, among other sources. Available in multi-grain crunch and chewy chocolate peanut flavors, bars are formulated to taste like the original Snickers candy bar and will retail for $1.49 each. Marathon bars should start reaching shelves in October, with advertising slated to begin in earnest late in Q4, Masterfoods notes.
