Nearly two-thirds of Americans over age 50 believe they do not obtain adequate amounts of vitamins/minerals from food alone, according to random telephone survey sponsored by NNFA, conducted Oct. 10-17 by StrategyOne (Washington, D.C.). Sixty-five percent of 736 participants consider regular supplement use "essential" for people their age and 70% say they use vitamins, minerals or herbals.
