Sunscreens formulated with vitamin E and sodium ascorbyl phosphate (stable vitamin C) combined with UV filters absorb twice the amount of UV-induced free radicals in skin as sunscreens without antioxidants, according to a study sponsored by Roche Vitamins, manufacturer of the widely used UVA filter Parsol 1789.
