Creatine cancer link disputed

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

Recent report issued by French Agency of Medical Security for Food naming sports supplement ingredient as potential carcinogen is unsubstantiated, NNFA asserts. Report, including epidemiological studies, case reports and in vitro experiments, was posted on French agency's Web site. "Speculation that creatine may increase cancer risk is purely hypothetical at best and flat wrong at worst," trade group maintains. CRN concurs, saying lay press coverage of report was "wrong and misleading"
