Food Advisory Committee

FDA requests nominations for candidates to fill either current or upcoming committee vacancies in a July 28 Federal Register notice. In a same-day "Dear Colleague" letter, CFSAN Director Joseph Levitt notes the newly established FAC will consist of a "parent" committee and four standing subcommittees: Dietary Supplements, Additives & Ingredients, Contaminants & Toxicants and Food Biotechnology. The parent committee will be composed of 15 members, including two consumer reps and two non-voting industry reps. Four members will serve as chairs of the subcommittees; each will consist of six standing members serving four-year terms.
