Whitehall tells NHL to "check" the dose

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

In response to reports Philadelphia Flyers hockey star Eric Lindros aggravated concussion-induced migraine headaches by taking up to 18 ibuprofen tablets a day, Advil maker Whitehall-Robins issued a statement March 21 saying "it is essential that consumers read the label and follow instructions when taking all medications, including OTC ibuprofen." The firm notes people should not take more than six tablets within 24 hours and points out that its recently approved migraine labeling allows for "two 200 mg Advil liquigels in a 24-hour period, after which the patient is instructed to consult his or her physician"
