Trade association names Corinne Russell new VP-Public Affairs, effective Nov. 30. Russell joins CHPA from the Washington, D.C.-based PR firm The Widmeyer-Baker Group, where she was a senior media relations strategist and the lead media trainer. Prior to joining Widmeyer-Baker in 1996, Russell was communications director and press secretary to Rep. Bart Gordon (R-Tenn.). She also has held several TV news positions in Chicago, Florida and Washington, D.C., winning three Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
