This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

Pfizer ad features a lipstick imprint surrounding a prescription fluconazole tablet and the headline: "Hate the yeast infection. Love the treatment." Ad copy states "oral Diflucan offers women something totally different: a prescription vaginal yeast infection treatment with no mess, just proven success. Simply take an oral tablet and you get a treatment that's as effective as seven days of Monistat 7 or Gyne-Lotrimin (69% and 72% clinical cure rates, respectively)." The ad ends with the tag line: "Kiss your creams goodbye." The ad appeared in a Jan. 11 special issue of Time magazine. The company has not decided whether it will use the ad in other publications.
