Executive Summary
OTC MINOXIDIL CHILD-RESISTANT CLOSURE, APPLICATOR REQUIREMENT PROPOSED by the Consumer Product Safety Commission March 17. The CPSC proposed rule, which would apply to preparations containing more than 14 mg minoxidil per package, would require child-resistant packaging for outer closures and for any dropper or finger sprayer applicator in the products that can "reasonably be expected to replace the primary closure of the product after its first use." Most marketed products contain 1,200 mg to 3,000 mg minoxidil per package.
