HERBAL ECSTACY CONSUMER FRAUD SUIT BY SEVEN ATTORNEYS GENERAL was filed against Venice, Calif.based Global World Media and its president Sean Shayan on Oct. 15 in Illinois circuit court, Sangamon County. The suit was brought by the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan along with the attorneys general of Arizona, California, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. The Illinois attorney general "is focusing on consumer fraud" in the suit, while the Department of Public Health "is targeting the marketing of an unapproved drug," Ryan's office explained.
