Vitamin B12 and AIDS: Study in the February issue of the American Society for Nutritional Sciences' Journal of Nutrition suggests that low serum B12 increases risk of progression to full-blown AIDS by 87% in HIV-positive men. Alice Tang, PhD, Johns Hopkins University, et. al followed 310 male subjects over nine years and observed that "the median AIDS-free time was four years shorter in the low serum vitamin B12 group."
