Executive Summary
TEXAS EPHEDRA REGS TABLED BY STATE BOARD OF HEALTH in a Jan. 17 meeting. The six-member board unanimously voted to table, rather than adopt, final regulations that would have caused most ephedra-containing products to be defined as Rx drugs. The proposed regs, issued July 26, also would have prohibited "marketing or labeling of any ephedrine-containing product for indications not approved" by FDA ("The Tan Sheet" Aug. 5, 1996, p. 11).
