SEC. 936 INCOME AND WAGE TAX CREDITS WOULD BE ELIMINATED AFTER 2006 under Congress' conference agreement on the Small Busi-ness Job Protection Act of 1996 (HR 3448). Aiming to send the bill to President Clinton before breaking for August recess, both chambers cleared the measure Aug. 2 -- the House by a 354-72 vote and the Senate by a 76-22 margin.
