CETYLPYRIDINIUM CHLORIDE IS EFFECTIVE ANTIGINGIVITIS AGENT, P&G maintained in a presentation to the Dental Products Panel OTC Plaque Products Subcommittee on June 7. Based on a reanalysis of Procter & Gamble data previously presented to the subcommittee and on results of recent testing, P&G Senior Researcher Matthew Doyle, PhD, asserted that "when formulated correctly, CPC is an effective antigingivitis ingredient and therefore warrants Category I designation within the monograph."
