Dietary supplement health claims rating system based on science suggested by NNFA.

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

SUPPLEMENT HEALTH CLAIMS: SCIENCE-BASED RATING SYSTEM SUPPORTED BY NNFA Director of Science and Technology Burton Kallman, PhD, at a meeting of the Commission on Dietary Supplement Labels in San Francisco on April 26. Kallman suggested that the public has been denied "a lot of useful information" on the relationship of certain nutrients to certain health problems based on the argument "that supporting data for these...claims are somehow inadequate and that their recognition by FDA would be at best premature and at worst would be misleading."
