HOUSE FDA REFORM HEARINGS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN MAY 1 in Rep. Michael Bilirakis' (R-Fla.) Commerce/health subcommittee. Two days of hearings are currently anticipated. Speaking before the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. on April 16, Rep. Jim Greenwood (R-Penn.), who is the floor manager for the House FDA reform bill, said he had "hoped to begin [hearings] this week, but the FDA requested a delay in conversations with my staff -- a delay that will not affect at all our ultimate goal of reporting this legislation out of the Commerce Committee by mid-June."
