NIELSEN AND IMS WILL BE SPUN OFF IN DIFFERENT CORPORATIONS under a break-up plan announced Jan. 9 by parent company Dun & Bradstreet, which will result in the business information conglomerate splitting into three companies. Under the plan, D&B will be divided into three separate public companies: A.C. Nielsen; Cognizant Corp., which will include IMS International; and Dun & Bradstreet Corp. The break-up is expected to be complete by the end of 1996.
