NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT CLAIMS WILL NOT BE DEFINED IN PROPOSED REG, FDA Office of Food Labeling Director Edward Scarbrough, PhD, reported at the Council for Responsible Nutrition's annual meeting in Lake Tahoe, Calif. on Sept. 18. The upcoming "claims proposal" will not establish a definition for "nutritional support claim," he stressed, noting that while "there are some guidelines needed...that is being handled by the Office of Special Nutritionals."
