OTC VAGINAL CONTRACEPTIVE ALLERGIC REACTION WARNING is proposed by FDA in a tentative final monograph published in the Feb. 3 Federal Register. "Consumers should be warned about possible allergic reactions such as burning and itching that may occur when using" vaginal contraceptives, the agency said. FDA added that the warning should also advise consumers to discontinue use of the product if such reactions occur.
