Meeting of FDA Dental Drug Products Panel's Plaque Subcommittee is set for Oct. 11-12 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Holiday Inn, Silver Spring, Md. The subcommittee is scheduled to discuss the "possible relationship of alcohol-containing mouthwashes to the development of oral and pharyngeal cancers" and will work on guidelines for determining the safety and effectiveness of antiplaque products, a Sept. 19 Federal Register notice states. The subcommittee also is scheduled to work on a draft report that will be submitted to the Dental Products Panel at a future meeting ("The Tan Sheet" July 4, p. 6)
