FDA ESTABLISHMENT OF TRP PERFORMANCE STANDARDS is unnecessary since the agency already has a compliance policy guide for tamper- resistant packaging, the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association asserted in March 21 comments to FDA on the agency's Jan. 18 proposal on tamper-resistant packaging. FDA said in the proposal that it would like to discuss with industry the possibility of establishing performance standards for tamper- evident packaging ("The Tan Sheet" Jan. 24, p. 1).
