METRIC LABELING COMPLIANCE TO BE MONITORED BY FDA AFTER NOV. 8, 1994, the agency said in a Dec. 21 proposed rule on metric content labeling for certain FDA-regulated products, including OTC drugs, foods, cosmetics and medical devices. The proposal, which would require the use on labeling of both the International System of Units (SI) and the customary inch-pound system for the declaration of the net quantity of contents, implements 1992 amendments to the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA).
