Executive Summary
Scheduled markup of Sen. Orrin Hatch's (R-Utah) S 784 by the full Senate Labor & Human Resources Committee on Nov. 17 ("The Tan Sheet" Nov. 15, In Brief) was postponed indefinitely due to continued disagreements between Hatch and committee chairman Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) over provisions of the bill. Negotiations between staffers for the two senators are expected to continue through the weekend of Nov. 18-19.
