Executive Summary
President Thomas Simone, 51, will leave the company at the end of the fiscal year, March 31. Simone's post will be filled on an interim basis by David McDowell, McKesson Corp.'s president and chief operating officer, the firm announced Oct. 25. Simone, who joined McKesson in 1973, is leaving to pursue entrepreneurial activities related to managed care. Simone was named president of McKesson Drug in February 1991 and previously served as corporate VP-finance and exec VP of PCS Health Systems. Until his departure, Simone will be responsible for McKesson Service Merchandising and Zee Medical Products, and will aid in the management transition in the drug wholesaling business.
