Executive Summary
Food Labeling Committee will meet April 26-30 in Ottawa to discuss issues including draft nutrient reference values, draft guidelines for use of health and nutrition claims in food labeling and draft guidelines for use of the term "natural." Coordinated by the World Health Organization and Food and Agriculture Organization since the early 1960s, Codex is responsible for harmonizing food standards internationally. A U.S. delegation of government officials has always been part of the 142-country group.
