CMS Will Expedite Removal Of Outdated National Coverage Policies

CMS plans to reassess all national coverage determinations that have not been reviewed in more than 10 years to determine if those policies are still needed. The new procedure is described in a notice updating the agency’s NCD processes. The document also encourages informal conversation with CMS prior to an official NCD request.
