HHS health information technology commission
HHS Secretary Michael Leavitt is soliciting member nominations for the formation of the American Health Information Community, a private-public commission that will help advance efforts to establish electronic health records for most Americans in 10 years. One of the group's responsibilities will be identifying and recommending priority health information technology achievements in such areas as drug safety that will provide immediate benefits to health care consumers.
