Lisa Raines remembered

Former Genzyme senior VP, who died Sept. 11 in the crash of American Airlines Flight 77 at the Pentagon, was remembered at a Sept. 21 memorial service in Washington, D.C. as a pioneer in the federal relations effort of the biotechnology industry and more recently for her work in connection with the Medicare Rx benefit debate. In keeping with her reputation for having a comprehensive and detailed command of technical issues, she was credited with coining the phrases "seamless" and "doughnut hole" in the discussion of prescription drug coverage issues
