FDA appropriations: FY 1996 Agriculture appropriations bill passes House July 21 by vote of 313-78. House members approved an amendment, offered by Rep. McIntosh (R-Ind.), which stipulates that no "funds made available in the act" may be used to increase the number of FDA full time equivalents over the fiscal 1995 number in several areas, including the Office of the Commissioner, Office of Policy, Office of External Affairs and Office of Management & Systems.
