USTR names Brazil, India and Turkey on "priority watch list" due to pharmaceutical patent concerns.

USTR SPECIAL 301 ACTIONS NAME BRAZIL, INDIA AND TURKEY among eight "priority watch list" countries. The three countries are among five that the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America wanted designated as "priority foreign countries" under the U.S. Trade Representative intellectual property sanction system. The two other countries identified by PhRMA -- Argentina and Singapore -- were classified as "watch list" countries by USTR. The European Union, Greece, Japan, Korea, and Saudi Arabia were also identified as being on the priority watch list; 22 other countries were placed on the watch list.
