DRUG MANUFACTURERS 139 MIL. POUND YEARLY POLLUTION REDUCTION predicted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in proposed "Effluent Limitations Guidelines, Pretreatment Standards, and New Source Performance Standards: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Category." EPA projects the annual cost to the pharmaceutical industry to be about $80 mil. The proposed rule is scheduled for publication in the Federal Register by mid-April, EPA said. A 90-day comment period will commence on the date of publication of the guideline.
