A systematic program for peer review of risk and economic assessments would be required under Title III of the "Job Creation and Wage Enhancement Act" (HR 9), part of a broad effort by House Republicans to reduce the power of the federal government and increase the accountability of federal officials. Part of the House Republican "Contract With America," the measure was introduced Jan. 4 by Rep. Archer (R-Tex.).
