Omnicare

Acquires Griffith, Ind.-based institutional pharmacy and related services provider Care Pharmaceutical Services, the long- term care pharmacy and related services company announces March 31. With the addition of CPS, Cincinnati-based Omnicare adds coverage of approximately 3,600 long-term care residents in 26 facilities located primarily in northwestern Indiana. Privately owned Care had 1993 revenues of $5.4 mil. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. With the Care residents added in, Omnicare covers more than 105,000 long-term care residents in over 1,200 facilities in eight states in addition to Indiana: Illinois, eastern Kansas, Kentucky, northern Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma and western West Virginia.
