Merck/Medco merger

Merck's proposed acquisition of Medco Containment Services clears the final regulatory hurdle with the Federal Trade Commission's Nov. 5 notification that FTC has terminated its investigation into the antitrust aspects of the merger. Merck and Medco were in the process of collecting information that was requested by FTC in September when they were notified of the early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period. Medco stockholders will consider and vote on the merger and the formal merger agreement at a Nov. 18 special meeting.
