Marvin Seife
Executive Summary
Former FDA Generic Drug Division chief remains in intensive care at Nix Medical Center in San Antonio as of March 20. Seife was serving a 10-month sentence for making false statements to government investigators about meals with industry when he became seriously ill several weeks ago ("The Pink Sheet" March 16, T&G-1). He is in the custody of his brother. The Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office, which prosecuted the former FDAer, has yet to receive papers related to an expected Federal Bureau of Prisons request that Seife's sentence be commuted.
