Executive Summary
John Walz named president and chief operating officer of the 125-year old Tennessee wholesale drug distributor on July 7. Walz is the first non-Albers family member to hold the title of president since the company's founding in 1864. Walz, 51, was most recently exec VP of Albers' Skyland Hospital Supply Division. Continuing as chairman and CEO is Edward "Bud" Albers, Jr., who held the president's title for the past 36 years. The company also announced the retirement, after 34 and 22 years respectively, of Albers Exec VP William Allbright and merchandising specialist Charles Brown.
