FDA FY 1990

FDA FY 1990 budget: House/Senate conferees tentatively agreed Oct. 5 to a compromise budget providing a total of $ 594.2 mil., including: $ 560.3 mil. for salaries and expenses; $ 8.35 mil. for buildings and facilities and $ 25.6 mil. for rental payments. Compromise also allocates $ 56.9 mil. for AIDS activities. The compromise rejects the Administration's proposal that $ 100 mil. of the FDA budget be derived from "user fees." Report language will include a discussion of the agency's generic drug review program.
