Three companies announce plans to form a joint venture to develop a new method of vitamin C using a microorganism produced at Genentech can simplify production of absorbic acid. Pfizer is collaborating with a Genentech/Lubrizol joint venture, GLC, "to accelerate the development of this new manufacturing process," a Nov. 12 announcement said.
