Executive Summary
FDA Com. Young and Associate Com. for Health Affairs Stuart Nightingale, MD, are preparing to argue against the need for a code as U.S. govt. representatives at the Conference of Experts on the Rational Use of Drugs, Nov. 23-25 in Nairobi, Kenya. Sponsored by the World Health Organization, the conference is a preliminary session to the May 1986 World Health Assembly. The marketing code concept is strongly opposed by the Pharmaceutical Mfrs. Assn. and the Proprietary Assn. ("The Pink Sheet" Oct. 14, T&G-3).
